CEBS is one of the best research colleges in India. CEBS was established as a joint initiative with the <br>University of Mumbai and the Department of Atomic Energy and that is why it is called UM-DAE <br>CEBS (University of Mumbai- Department of Atomic Energy Centre of Excellence in Basic <br>Sciences). <br>It was primarily an experimental venture as stated by the director of CEBS and they wanted to try this <br>idea instead of building a new campus for a particular institute.
