  1. REUSE PRECIOUS RESOURCES VIA THE RESPONSIBLE RECYCLING OF E-WASTE Innovation is continually bringing us new and ever more sophisticated gadgets and equipment to the market. These new products can result in quality of life improvements, often making our lives easier for us in one way or another. One unfortunate side-effect of all this innovation, is the question of what to do with all of our outdated products? Computers, laptops, mobile phones…All have very short lifespans. Ever since regulations have been enforced in the U.K, the practise of dumping electronic and electric waste in the household waste is slowly becoming less socially acceptable. We’ve become more aware of the issues surrounding e-waste recycling, and in particular, the harmful effects to the environment that can occur with the incorrect disposal of e-waste. Alongside the immediate environmental contamination that can occur when dumping e-waste in landfill sites, there is a secondary consideration concerning the retention of natural resources that E-waste recycling can provide. The manufacture of electrical and electronic goods require essential elements such as; chromium, nickel, copper etc. E-waste recycling is extremely useful for the manufacturing industry, as many essential metals can be reused from existing products, which is much less damaging to the environment than harvesting new raw materials from the ground. WEEE waste collection is methodically conducted, with each and every item collected being categorised, sorted and assigned to a particular holding area, ready for processing. There are many IT recycling companies that conduct WEEE waste collection, and e-waste recycling at dedicated sites up and down the UK, however, you should always seek an accredited company that ensures the correct disposal of e-waste, and safe data destruction practices. IT recycling companies are here for the good of all of us, protecting our environment, and promoting responsible recycling practices. IT recycling companies should conform to all relevant (and current) government regulations, and should be periodically assessed by appropriate bodies. Typically retail outlets that sell electronic and electrical appliances have facilities for WEEE waste collection at their premises, so that customers are able to discard their old products at the same time as acquiring new ones. Offices, schools, colleges, hospitals etc, all have WEEE waste disposal protocols in place, to ensure that no WEEE waste is disposed of incorrectly. They also often have agreements in place with an IT recycling company, for the regular collection of their WEEE waste. WEEE Recycle offers safe, responsible and convenient e-waste recycling. With years of dedicated service providing sustainable solutions that maintain a healthy environment, WEEE Recycle can professionally collect and process any form of e-waste, ready for recycling.
