All You Need To Know About Few Instruments Required In Today's Industry What is a Pressure Gauge Syphon? A pressure gauge syphon is a simple device to protect a pressure sensor from a high-temperature medium, such as steam. It can also be used to reduce the damage of rapid pressure changes. The syphon allows condensate to form and be collected inside the syphon preventing the hot vapors and steam from coming in direct contact with the pressure instruments and also used as a freeze protector when used with adequately filled fluids.
Types of Gauge siphon 1.Coil Syphons - It is generally used for vertical installations. 2.U-Type Syphons – It is usually used for horizontal installations. 3.Straight pipes and 90° Elbows – These are used when gauge syphons are not necessary due to service conditions. The straight pipe is used for vertical installations, and the 90° Elbows are used for horizontal installations. 4.Compact Gauge Syphons – It can be used instead of coil syphons for vertical installations. It is a standard type of gauge syphons.
What is a Bimetal Thermometer? A bimetal thermometer measures thermal expansion. The thermometer uses a bimetal spring as the temperature sensing element. The technology uses a coil spring made of two metals (Copper, Steel, or Brass) welded or fastened together. One metal must have high heat sensitivity, while the other must-have low heat sensitivity. These thermometers measure the temperature in the range of (-50°C – 600°C). These instruments are affordable as they are very low in cost.
What is a Low-Pressure Gauge? Low-pressure gauges accurately measure pressure below 10 psi (690 mbar) by some capsule elements. Capsule gauges are found in applications that operate in a vacuum or pressure as low as 1" water column. In most low-pressure gauges, the range on the lower end is limited up to 10 psi (690 mbar). A low-pressure gauge with a capsule design can go down as low as 0.036 psi (2.5 mbar). Also Read:How do various industrial applied measurement instruments come in handy?
