CandidatesarerankedforimmigrationtoCanadausing acomprehensiveRankingSystem.Thesystemassign pointsbasedontheinformationprovidedonyour immigrationapplication.Pointsareassignedonthe followingfactors:age,education,languagefluency,and Canadianworkexperience.

  3. WITHOUTPARTNER: Max150pointscanbeassigned.Themaximum pointsaregivenforthosewithauniversity degreeatadoctorallevel. Max110pointscanbeassigned.Maximumpointsaregiven forindividualswhoareagedbetween20and29.For individuals,above45ageorunder17agearegiven0points. Itissplitintotwocategories:officiallanguageproficiencyand secondofficiallanguage.Theofficiallanguagecategoryis subdividedintofourcategories:reading,writing,talkingand listening.Maxpointsassignedforeachcategoryis34points. YouaregivenpointsbasedonhowyouscoreontheCLBlevel. Thehighestlevelisabove10.Thesecondofficiallanguage categoryisdividedintothesamesubdivisionsasanofficial languagewithamaximumof24pointspercategory. themaximumpointsthatcanbeis80.Thismaximumpoint isgivenforworkexperienceover5yearsormore.

  4. WITHPARTNER (SPOUSEORCOMMON-LAWPARTNER): Pointsareassignedinarangeof0-10.Botha master’sdegreesandadoctorateareassigned 10points. Max110pointscanbeassigned. Itissplitintotheofficiallanguageandthesecondofficial language.Eachcategoryisfurthersubdividedinto4 subsections.Foreachcategory,yourpartnercanbeassigneda maximumof5pointsforatotalof20points. Max10pointscanbeassignedtoanindividualwith5or moreyearsofworkexperienceinCanada.

  5. Thenextcategorythathasamaximumof100pointsassignedisSkill TransferabilityFactors.TheseSkillTransferabilityFactorsinclude education,foreignworkexperience,andcertificateofqualification. Finally,anextra600pointscanbeassigned.Thesepointsareassignedbased onthefollowingfactors:arrangedemployment (ajoboffer),siblingslivingin Canada (aseitheracitizenorapermanentresident), post-secondaryeducationinCanada, Frenchlanguageskills,andaprovincial nomination.Therefore,thereisamaximumof 1,200immigrationpointsavailable.
