April 30 from Yank Barry and Global Village Champions Foundation to aid them in the aftermath of the recent outbreak of violent tornadoes. May 03, 2011 – Birmingham, Alabama Mr. Barry learned from Brian Wallace of the Birmingham, Alabama Salvation Army Mr. Barry learned from Brian Wallace of the Birmingham, Alabama Salvation Army that they alone have handed out over 65,000 bottles of water total since the devastating tornadoes struck last week. The Salvation Army are handing out an average of 10,000 to 11,000 bottles of drinking water a day. The 9,200 bottles of water that Global Village Champions donated went directly to their canteens, or mobile kitchens, directly to those affected. Mr. Wallace commented, “Some water systems have been contaminated so this is the only way for many survivors to get clean water. It meant the world to us at The Salvation Army that Yank Barry and clean water. The most urgent need is still water, non-perishable food, and paper products like toilet paper and paper plates.
