Look What the Lord Will do! Psalm 40:1-5
Psalm 40:1-3 I waited patiently for the Lord; He turned to me and heard my cry. He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; He set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand. He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see and fear and put their trust in the Lord.
Psalm 40:4-5 Blessed is the man who makes the Lord his trust, who does not look to the proud, to those who turn aside to false gods. Many, O Lord my God, are the wonders you have done. The things you planned for us no one can recount to you;were I to speak and tell of them, they would be too many to declare.
He will… Save Us From Sinking
The Lord will be there for you when you cry out to Him! • The Lord will hear your cry and rescue you!
He will… Set Our Feet on the Solid Rock
Security- God gives us a firm place to stand • Sight- God gives us the ability to see
He will… Put a New Song in Our Mouth
You have a Story to share! • God will use you and your story to cause others to put their trust in Jesus!
Psalm 40:4-5 Blessed is the man who makes the Lord his trust, who does not look to the proud, to those who turn aside to false gods. Many, O Lord my God, are the wonders you have done. Ephesians 2:1-3 As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient. All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our sinful natureand following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature objects of wrath.
Ephesians 2:4-6 But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved. And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus,
Ephesians 2:7-10 in order that in the coming ages He might show the incomparable riches of His grace, expressed in His kindness to us in Christ Jesus. For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
Key Truth: • What God did for the Psalmist, He will do for YOU!! • Challenge: • We must seek Him, wait on Him, and turn toward Him! • Will You??
