  28. Operation Menu begins • March 18, 1969 • Lasted roughly 1 year • Objective: Destroy the estimated 40,000 enemy troops in the area.

  29. The Invasion of Cambodia Begins • Announced in April 1970 as part of Vietnamization. • However Nixon keeps Operation Menu a secret. • Still results in public outcry and anti-war protest reach its peak.
