So, you know a little about creating a PowerPoint presentation. How do you use it in your curriculum with students?
Today we will • Learn how to teach students to create a PowerPoint. • Show examples of student-produced presentations from Kindergarten to 4th grade. • See samples of student handouts of the assignments. • View rubrics to get ideas on how to grade presentations.
Teaching students how to create a PowerPoint • Create your own simple presentation with simple step-by-step instructions. • Madison County’s website has some great tools in its J.A.M. (Just A Minute) link under the Technology tab. www.madison.k12.al.us
Tips for Students When Creating Their Own • Background colors should contrast the font color. • Sound files should be imbedded so that they will work on other computers. • Less is more! Too many sounds and transitions distract from the presentation. • Let’s see some samples.
Rubrics • Kathy Schrock's Guide for Educators - Assessment Rubrics • Multimedia Rubric • PowerPoint Rubric • PowerPoint Rubric 2 • Powerpoint Rubric 3 • Rubrics for Power Point, Hyperstudio, Web design for elementary and secondary projects
Thank you for coming! • Don’t forget the blood drive sponsored by LifeSouth from noon until 5:00. • In your bag you will find the certificate that gives you credit for attending sessions and the evaluation form.
