Attendance • Every day and every minute matters for your child’s learning. • 8:50 a.m.-3:30 p.m. • Please try to minimize appointments • No early dismissal after 3:10 p.m. Send in note if routine is different. Teacher sends the note to the office for initialing, we keep copy and return to the student for the bus driver.

Establish Routines Arrival…. bus riders (bus stop) car riders (use the parking lot) Public Day Care vans walkers Dismissal….bus riders car riders/ Day Care vans walkers escorted to the side of the building for awaiting parents (park in lot)
Bus Expectations • Nametags on the backpacks, all year • Sit up front (safety patrol nearby) • 1st to get off the bus and to get on the bus; have to be met by designated person or walk home with Montclair sibling • Safety procedures…bottom on seat, talk to those near student, facing forward, hands/feet to themselves (in school, too) • Transportation issues, Ms. Slonka is the 1st contact person
Code of Behavior • Access online at PWCS • Sign the emergency card to follow the COB • MES school-wide discipline program/ pamphlet / Olweus Bully-Free program at Montclair (info. sent home during Back to School) • Classroom visits by administrators Home play/ School play Hands/ Feet to self; Toy lookalike weapons; gestures • “Job” is to learn • Responsible (for self) .and Responseable to the success of the class so all can learn & teacher teaches
Lunch • Buying a lunch; Packing a lunch (please be sure your child can “open” what is packed) • Sitting at tables, inside voices, raise hands for help, NO sharing of food • 2 hostesses with approximately 190 students • You are welcome to have lunch any time • Lunchmoney.com; Checks with student’s name • Cafeteria has separate phone line Mrs. Goodman is our manager- the BEST in PWCS
Clinic • Medications…never transported by the child • Keep emergency card updated and alert our staff to conditions as necessary (medical transport will take emergency card copy) • Fever of 100 degrees, student needs to be picked up within the hour of contact & return to school after 24 hours of vomiting/ fever-free without medicine
Volunteering We NEED you as our school/home partner ….either coming in to school as a volunteer or by following your teacher’s homework routines to support your child Volunteers have formal training and sign PWCS Confidentiality regulation Visiting classrooms: arranged prior with the teacher; observations arranged with administrator
