  1. Dual Enrollment: Earn College Credit at Your High School Towards a Degree or Certificate

Benefits of Dual Enrollment • Students receive high school and college credit in their classes • Taught by high school instructors who are college certified • No textbook cost for students • Tuition is approximately 1/3 the cost of state universities • Credits transfer to most colleges and universities • Courses enhance critical thinking skills and students are better prepared for college • Higher GPA, higher retention (80.7% vs. 64.5%), higher completion (3.5 X) in college • Need-based tuition assistance available

Need based tuition assistance: • Form must be submitted with signed 2013 Federal tax returns • Documentation of lawful presence in the United States • Pays for up to 12 credits per year (8 in fall, 4 in spring) • Limited funds available • Awarding done on a first come, first served basis • Tuition assistance applications are available at www.cgc.edu/dual

Students can obtain the AGEC or Associates Degree while in High School • Arizona General Education Curriculum (35 – 38 Credit block) • Fulfills lower division general education requirements • Transfers to AZ public universities without loss of credit • Courses must be completed with a grade of C or better • Provides exemption from AZ university admission requirements with a minimum 2.5 G.P.A. • Associates Degree – ( 60 credits) • AGEC plus up to 25 hours free electives • Completion of degree reduces G.P.A. requirement needed for university admissions exemption to 2.0 • 40+ transfer partners • Hamilton offers all the courses for a student to obtain a degree with the exception of COM225.

Steps for Student Enrollment Students create their account through my.maricopa.edu Apply for Admission Take the appropriate placement tests * Testing is August 5th, 7th, 12th & 14th at 2:30 pm in C109 Registration packet is turned in to teacher no later than August 15.* Registration form signed by student and parent* Declaration of Citizenship status form with documentation Pay tuition* Monday, September 22 for fall and year-long classes* Monday, February 9 for spring classes Attend Parent/Student Expo at CGCC Williams Campus Oct. 7 or Pecos Campus Oct. 8
