  1. Perth Amboy Board of Education Security Officer Training

  2. Security Officer Training On September 1st, 2nd and 3rd, 37members of the Perth Amboy Board of Education Security Force took a 24 hour Security Officer Registration Act (SORA) training course at AFI Security Training Institute in Metuchen, NJ.

  3. Through a combination of classroom lessons, PowerPoint presentations, videos, and discussions, these Security Officers covered a multitude of topics, including (but not limited to): the History of Private Security, 2 First Aid Report Writing Theft Prevention

  4. Punctuality Managing Aggressive Behavior Sexual Harassment Fire Prevention & Response

  5. Emergency Response Homeland Security and Counter Terrorism Suspicious packages

  6. Ethics & Professional Conduct Drugs & Alcohol in the Workplace Media Relations: what NOT to say

  7. Hostile Environment Using Force

  8. Legal Limits on Using Force, and Street Gangs. and street gangs.

  9. Security Officer Training There were quizzes (both verbal and written) after many of the topics, both as a review and as a reinforcement of the lessons.

  10. You’ll be happy to know that this… did not happen with any of Perth Amboy Board of Education’s Security Officers.

  11. We are happy to report that the Security Officers working for the Perth Amboy Board of Education are NJ State Police certified Security Officers
