Basic Facts Full name: Francisco Vázquez de Coronado Born to a noble family on 1510 in Salamanca, Spain When 25 years old, Francisco goes to New Spain (Mexico) with Antonio de Mendoza In 1538, Coronado became the governor of a city in New Spain called Nueva Galicia On September 22, 1554, Coronado Dies
