  2. Two events means TWO FRACTIONS MULTIPLIED! Independent- dice, coins, spinners, etc. Nothing is taken away. (P) roll a dice over 4. and (P) flip a coin on heads 2/6 x½ = 2/12 = 1/6 InDependent- Something is taken away and not replaced. 10 socks: 4 are white and 6 are black. (P) white sock and (P) white sock again 4/10x3/9 = 12/90= 6/45 X

  3. Remember, you must make the numerator for the number of items asked about that are actually there. For example, if you pick 1 white sock, the numerator is NOT 1, unless there is only one white sock. The numerator is how many white socks there are. (P) white sock and then another white sock is 4/10 x 3/9 = 12/90 = 2/15
