Applied Dual Use Biosecurity Programme • “Train the Trainer” programme • Delivered online from Bradford by experts • 60+ expert alumni by the end of 2011/12 • 6-week and 12-week versions • Lectures, small group work, student presentations, using real-life biosecurity scenarios • Assessed by essays and presentations • Accredited as a UK Masters level module (12 week)
The new National Series • A series of country-specific programmes tailored to the biosecurity needs of each focus country • 5 lectures (c. 22 slides each): • Introduction • Threats and prohibition regimes • Web of prevention • National measures • Responsibility of life scientists • So far: Ukraine, Pakistan, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Tajikistan • 11 more editions this year, including a range of MENA countries
Delivery of the National Series • First delivery at invitation of host country, by arrangement • Can be delivered to your invited audience by Bradford experts, by arrangement • Comes with Briefing Paper, Facilitation Notes and lecture plans for a tutor • Can be delivered by a non-expert • Class activities and discussions • Suitable for students, tutors, scientists, policy makers, all biosecurity stakeholders • Case studies, country-specific information for host country • Self-assessment • Will be available free online via www.brad.ac.uk/bioethics/NationalSeries • Facilitates the set-up of a National Biosecurity Education Network in the host country • Materials are free!
