Where we came from • A church planting movement started in Lancaster by a pastor named Larry Neville • Praise Chapel Christian Fellowship is over 1000 churches, many in third world or impoverished countries • Praise Christian Fellowship from North Reading • 20 people started the ministry (thank you MaryLynn, Chris, Cheryl, Lee, Tina, Jesse, Leia, Leisha, Dave)

Why start a church • Faithful Saints had prayed for a Bible teaching, Holy Spirit led, Non-denominational church in this area • I accepted my call to become a pastor in 2005 at a Leadership meeting at PCF • I was disturbed by an introverted church and wanted to try as hard as possible to follow the Acts example of what Church was intended to be.

  6. Why we exist • To seek and save the lost • To transform the Saved • To restore the “C” church to Southern Berks County • To be the first place people think of when they need help • To launch the transformed into internal and external ministry

The timeline • A Thursday Night Bible Study started in August of 2006 • It was too large to fit in our house, so we started renting the fire company • We had Catholic, Baptist, UCC, Lutheran, and Pentecostal people who attended. • I was ordained in November of 2006 • On 1/7/07, we had our first church service

The ministry model • The Pastor, like everyone else, is a volunteer • Everyone has a place and a fit in the Body of Christ • The Pastor’s role is to equip the Saints and help them find their fit • Programs, Outreaches, Ministries are intended to start from within hearts of people, not be planned by a steering committee

The facets of MGM • Maple Grove Ministries – the Church • The Mount – the refueling zone • Testify Missions – Missions Outreach • The Ministries we support • Christ In Action • Mercy Crisis Pregnancy Center • Racers for Christ • Brecknock Fire Company • Praise Chapel International • Chalk Talk

Maple Grove Ministries • The 501C3 umbrella that all other MGM ministries fall under • Will preach the truth over “growth principles” • Strengthened or weakened by obedience to each individual calling • Will never be servant to the lender • Currently overseen by a two person board (Lance and Lee currently)

The Mount • Intended to be a self sufficient ministry • Not supposed to be an “income center”, but will be available to all as necessary • Will be funded through individuals who have been blessed or helped by The Mount • Outdoor Concerts, Indoor Concerts, Weekend Refueling Seminars, Youth Training Center, Leadership Development, etc for all Christian Churches, Para-Church Organizations, and eventually groups like the CHOP, ACC, etc.

  12. Testify Missions • Only Months old from an MGM perspective • Will help other churches learn to organize and run missions trips • Will remain under the umbrella of MGM until it is large enough to become self sufficient with articles of incorporation, 501C3, and whatever is necessary to help equip other churches
