  2. “For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.” Matthew 6:13b KJV

  3. Numerous late manuscripts add various forms of a conclusion to Jesus’ prayer, no doubt to give the prayer a “proper” doxology that it otherwise lacked. This well-known conclusion (“for yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.”) appears in the NIV margin but almost certainly did not appear in Matthew’s original text.

  4. It is absent from various Latin and Coptic versions, and numerous church fathers. It nevertheless affords a very appropriate conclusion, and no one need campaign to do away with its use in churches today.   6. Yours Is The Kingdom But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. “Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble. (Matthew 6:33-34 ESV)

Yours Is The Kingdom What is causing the most stress in your life right now? “do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:6-7 ESV)

Yours Is The Kingdom “Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. (Matthew 6:19-21 ESV)

  9. Yours Is The Kingdom How much time do we devote to praying for temporal vs. eternal things? What changes will you need to make in order to realign your time, energy, and resources to focus on eternal things?

  10. Yours Is The Power “But we have this treasure in jars of clay, to show that the surpassing power belongs to God and not to us. We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed; always carrying in the body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be manifested in our bodies.

Yours Is The Power For we who live are always being given over to death for Jesus' sake, so that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our mortal flesh.” (2 Corinthians 4:7-11 ESV) What situations, circumstances, or events have you (or are you currently) gone through in which you feel powerless?

  13. Yours Is The Glory Read: John 8:54-55, John 11:4, John 14:13, John 17:26 What do these Scriptures teach about God’s glory? What does it mean to glorify God?

Yours Is The Glory whoever speaks, as one who speaks oracles of God; whoever serves, as one who serves by the strength that God supplies—in order that in everything God may be glorified through Jesus Christ. To him belong glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen. (1 Peter 4:11 ESV) How would it change your day if you consistently lived, “Thine is the Glory?”
