The League • AB plays in the Massachusetts Bay Youth Lacrosse League (MBYLL, www.mbyll.org) • 105 Towns • 5 Regional Divisions (We are in the NorthWest Division) • 20 other towns in our Division such as Westford, Lexington, & Concord • U11 (3rd and 4th) U13 (5th and 6th) U15 (7th and 8th) • The league has experienced tremendous growth • 1993 20 Teams, 500 players • 2004 290 Teams, 6000 players • League Philosophy, Sportsmanship, and Expectations • Code of Conduct • Consent to Treat/Release • US Lacrosse Membership Acton Boxboro Lacrosse Meeting
Indoor Practice Schedule • Indoor Practices @ Acton Indoor Sports • Sunday 2/26 6:45 – 8:00 AM All first time playersonly 7:45 – 9:00 AM All U15’s • Sunday 3/5 6:45 – 8:00 AM All U13’s 7:45 – 9:00 AM All U11’s • Sunday 3/12 6:45 – 8:00 AM All U15’s 7:45 – 9:00 AM All U13’s • Sunday 3/19 6:45 – 8:00 AM All U15’s 7:45 – 9:00 AM All U13’s • Sunday 3/26 6:45 – 9:00 AM All U11’s Acton Boxboro Lacrosse Meeting
Outdoor Practice and Game Schedule • Outdoor Practice Schedule (starting when fields available) • U11’s Weds and Friday 6:00-7:30 at School St Fields • U13’s Tues and Friday 6:00-7:30 at High School Fields • U15’s Monday and Thurs 6:00-7:30 at High School Fields (note: School Street field may be used by some U13 or U15 teams and one of the U15 teams may practice on Tuesdays) • Lexington Face Off Festival (Format: Two 36 minute games) • U13’s & U15’s on Satuday or Sunday March 26th or 27th • $10 fee per player • Season Games • Sunday afternoons 4/2 thru 6/4 (between 11:00 and 5:00) • **Possible Extra Weeknight games • U15 Select Games • No Games 4/16 (Easter) and 5/28 (Memorial Day Weekend) • End of Season Jamboree @ Devens Weekend of 6/10-11 or 6/11-18 Acton Boxboro Lacrosse Meeting

Lacrosse Fields In Acton • ABRHS Fields • Our primary fields for games and practices are the two Boys Lacrosse Fields in “the back”, beyond the baseball fields • Park near the Tennis courts • Do not drive on the dirt road to these fields • Leary Field had been made available to boys lacrosse on 5 Sundays and some Wednesday nights • School Street • Primary field for U11 practices Acton Boxboro Lacrosse Meeting
Lacrosse 101: The Game • Four 10 Minute Quarters • Start with a Face Off at Mid Field • Players pass the ball to each other to get into position to shoot on goal • Object is to get the ball in the goal • Lacrosse is not a contact sport … it’s a sport with contact • Additional information on the MBYLL website • Instructional video tapes available at the Acton Library Acton Boxboro Lacrosse Meeting

Lacrosse 101: Equipment Checklist • Stick • U11 maximum stick length is 42” • U13 now allows ong pole sticks up to 5’ in length for defensemen • U15 allows long poles sticks up to 6’ in length for defensemen • Helmets (NOCSAE approved) • Put players full name on front of helmet with Athletic / Masking Tape • Gloves • Arm Pads • Shoulder Pads • Colored mouth guard (which attaches to the helmet) • Hard athletic cup • Cleats (once we get the field) • Sneakers for indoor sessions Acton Boxboro Lacrosse Meeting
