  2. INTERFACE REQUIREMENTS • PI shall demonstrate the Instrument is capable of handling the maximum loaded configuration of the instrument. This can be done in 2 ways • Analysis And/or • Proof load test of the cart. Proof load test of GSE Equipment is 125% of the maximum load configuration • PI shall demonstrate that the loaded SI Cart shall be able to meet the following physical dimensional requirements in order to safely negotiate through the door and the reinforced path of the aircraft • Height of the loaded SI cart in any configuration shall not exceed 60” • Width of the loaded SI cart shall not exceed 41” • The distance from the edge of the envelope to the rear caster shall not be more than 69” and the total length shall not exceed 79” • SI cart deck shall be 6” high from the ground • All wheels shall maintain contact with the ramp while negotiating the ramp • SI Cart shall be able to negotiate the door, door ramp and through the reinforced aircraft floor without damaging the aircraft and without compromising the safety

  3. SI Cart Caster requirements • All casters shall be swiveling casters • All casters shall have swivel lock • Casters shall be at least 24” apart. Outside width distance shall not exceed 30” • Load on each caster shall not exceed 600 lbs • Maximum allowable load on the aircraft floor is 500 psi • At least 2 casters shall have braking capability • Interface requirements of SI cart at the telescope • SI cart shall have the capability to translate in vertical direction between 32.13” to 34.13” • SI cart shall have an angular motion of +/- 0.3 degrees • Minimum spacing from the outer most edge of the SI flange to the outer most edge of the carts shall be >= 1” • Other Requirements on the SI Cart • Cart design shall employ dead man brakes • An analysis that shows that designed cart shall not tip over at any load configurations
