  2. What does a travel agent do? A travel agent help customers to go on a trip to other countries. A travel agent has to know about the various countries and especially what the best hotels and places to visit are. A travel agent also has to know the cost of the whole trip. He can book the holiday for you and organise everything. He also has to be in contact with different agencies.

  3. Interview with Gigi Torsello, Travel Agent What kind of education do you need to have this job? First of all you have to go to high school. It would be better to speak a secondary language. (Especially english is required) What do you do during the day? I reach the place I work and sit in front of a computer all day, trying to satisfy customers. What do you like the most about your job? I mostly like to organise trips to The USA, Australia and The Far East, those are the parts of the world that I know best.

  4. Are you paid well considering your education? Not at all. How many holidays do you have in a year? It depends on how much I earn during the year. Around 4-6 weeks a year. Are you tired when you come home from work? Yes of course, because you’ve got to work 7-8 hours infront of a monitor. What kind of tasks seems unpleasant to you? Administration, countability and everything not regarding tourism. Do you occupy yourself with your job outside working hours? Yes of course. Lots of people keep on asking me about new trips, ticket prices and so on.
