PHILOSOPHICAL ARGUMENT FOR INFORMATION PROLIFERATION (a.k.a. WHY IT WORKS) • Position #1 • Information is power. • Power is freedom. • Therefore, information is equal to freedom. • Position #2 • Individuals exist to define and promote their own freedom. • An individual cannot define their freedom alone, to do so requires the freedom of an other. • Sharing information promotes the freedom of the other. • If an individual’s freedom is dependent upon the freedom of an other, then the sharing of information with the other promotes the individual’s freedom.
