Example -Express what you feel and tell the truth. -To act correctly, complying with the norms, principles and values. -To be an example at all times of our children. -To stick to the truth no matter what the consequences. Counterexample: -Lying in front of sons and daughters and teaching them to lie. -To be a corrupt person. -Accept negative attitudes. -To tolerate and practice pious lies. Counterexample: -Impose their own decisions and authoritarian conduct on others. -Ignore a family member as if he did not exist. "-In my house you do what I say and that's it. He who mocks the poor reproaches his Maker; he who rejoices in misfortune will not go unpunished. Proverbs 17, 5
COMMUNICATION It is the process of exchanging information in which there is a sender and a receiver. Example -Knowing how to talk and listen constantly in the family. -To improve our family relations through assertive communication. -Seek and consolidate spaces for dialogue in the family. - Counterexample: -Don't listen and just talk, avoid conversations. -Generate isolation due to lack of communication. - Do not seek and consolidate spaces for dialogue in the family. Therefore, if your brother sins against you, go and rebuke him, being you and him alone; if he hears you, you have gained your brother. But if he hearkeneth not unto thee, take with thee yet one or two, that every word may be recorded in the mouth of two or three witnesses. If he does not hear them, tell it to the church; and if he does not hear the church, regard him as a gentile and a publican. Matthew 18, 15-17
EMPATHY It is the value within us that gives us the ability to understand, support and motivate our fellow human beings. Example -Put ourselves in the place of our children, husbands and wives, to understand the situation and to be able to help them. -To interpret as our own the joy of a loved one in our family. -To help a family member with difficulties in performing a simple task. -To know the reactions of each member of my family. -Remember that we, too, were young. Counterexample: -Not to perceive the state of mind of a member of my family. -To downplay the importance of what happens to a member of our family. -Letting reactions pass. -Not to accompany our couples in activities that are of their preference. Rather, be kind and compassionate to one another, and forgive one another, just as God forgave you in Christ. Ephesians 4, 32

Example -Let our children decide according to the formation we have given them. -Listening and transmitting security in a difficult or complex situation. -Have a positive mind when faced with decisions made as a family. Counterexample: -Don't let my partner or my children make their own decisions. -Impose without first listening. -To look for lies in order to get out of some problem. "Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, and puts his trust in him. It will be like a tree planted by the water, extending its roots into the stream; it does not fear the heat will come, and its leaves are always green. In times of drought there is no anguish, and it never ceases to bear fruit." Jeremyne 17, 7-8
TOLERANCE Moral value that implies full respect for the other. Example -To learn to turn the other cheek in adverse situations. -Accepting suggestions and opinions from others. Accept the personal tastes of each family member. -Be tolerant of the unexpected and learn from mistakes. Counterexample: -To take contrary attitudes. -React aggressively or with screams. -Impose our thoughts on the rest of the family. -Ignore opinions. - "You have heard that it was said, "Love your neighbor and hate your enemy." But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,[b] that you may be children of your Father who is in heaven. He causes the sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and rain on the just and on the unjust. Matthew 5, 43-45
RESPONSIBILITY The act of making conscious decisions and accepting the consequences of their actions, committed to responding for them. Example -Fulfill commitments and obligations despite any adversity. -Conclude any action from beginning to end. -To provide family members with material and spiritual needs. Counterexample: -Don't be too interested in listening to family members, and leave obligations to what comes. -Allow a common project or decision not to be concluded. -The role one plays within the home is of little importance. -We need to disengage ourselves from all material and spiritual responsibilities. -Avoiding obligations. For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may be rewarded for his deeds being in the body, according to what he has done, whether it be good or evil. 2 Corinthians 5, 10
PRUDENCE Be cautious in speaking and acting. Example -Supporting someone in trouble. -To act with caution in the decisions of the children. -Act fairly and appropriately with everyone. Counterexample: -To react in an impulsive, negative way on the part of the parents towards the children. Do not be cautious in giving, judging and defining circumstantial acts, rushing into cataloguing. -Don't respect my family, be clumsy with any of them, don't think before acting. The simple one believes everything, but the prudent one watches his steps well. Proverbs 14, 15
FAITH Personal belief and hope in the existence of a superior being, unshakable certainty that that which is expected, that which is believed, is true, true, unquestionable. Example -To act despite the fact that there is no logical reason. -To believe in God and recognize that He is the creator of all things. -Let my family make a habit of prayer. To attend, with my family, every Sunday the Eucharist. -To share the Word of God in family. Counterexample: -Seeing is believing. -Do not believe in anything or in yourself. -Demonstrate weakness in the spiritual. -Make excuses not to hear or read the Word of God. -Do not share the Word of God in family. -Not to accompany or be consistent with the sacraments in the Christian life of our families. Now, faith is the guarantee of what is expected, the certainty of what is not seen. Hebrews 11, 1
LOVE It's the force that drives us to do things right. Example -To give oneself without excuses or comforts. -To know how to forgive. -To do things always with love. -Show and receive signals of affection. Counterexample: -To think only of oneself (egocentrism). -To be selfish and incomprehensible with my partner and children. -To betray my children or my partner. -Don't value my family. Love is patient, it's kind. Love is neither envious nor boastful nor proud. He does not behave rudely, he is not selfish, he does not get angry easily, he does not hold a grudge. 1 Corinthians 13, 4-5
PATIENCE Experience of compassion and personal mastery, so as not to react with violence to the weakness of children. Example -Listen before you act. -Consider attitudes different from your own. To practice self-control, to control oneself in the most critical moments. -Be patient at home and in every way, celebrate achievements and patiently support failures. Counterexample: -To act directly with aggressiveness or violence. -Losing control and judging different attitudes. -Not knowing how to control negative emotions. -React with punishments, psychological, physical, etc. to negative situations of one of the family. The one who is patient shows great discernment;the one who's aggressive shows a lot of folly. Proverbs 14, 29
If you are going to put these virtues (values) into practice, do not forget to read, when necessary, the following biblical quotation: But I say to you, Do not swear in any way: neither by heaven, for it is the throne of God; nor by the earth, for it is the footstool of His feet; nor by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the great King. Don't swear on your head either, because you can't make a single hair turn black or white. When And when you say "no," let it be no. Anything else comes from the evil one. Matthew 5, 34-37
