  2. ESEA as Reauthorized by theNo Child Left Behind ActPrivate School Participation ESEA as reauthorized by NCLB of 2001, provides benefits to private school students, teachers and other education personnel, including those in religiously affiliated schools. Office of Staff Development

  3. Title VPromoting Informed Parental Choice and Innovative Programs • Title V, Part A – Innovative Programs Office of Staff Development

  4. Title V, Part A – Innovative Programs • Provides funds for education improvement programs, instructional and media materials, library materials, professional development, and other activities. Office of Staff Development

  5. Title V, Part A – Innovative Programs Innovative Programs support education reform and innovative school improvement programs to improve school, student and teacher performance. Private school students, teachers and other education personnel may receive professional development, library materials, educational equipment. Office of Staff Development

  6. Title V, Part A – Innovative Programs • Schools have the flexibility to design and implement innovative projects and activities within one or more of 27 areas to serve locally identified needs. Office of Staff Development

  7. Title V, Part A – Innovative Programs Projects and activities must be: • Tied to promoting challenging academic achievement standards; • Used to improve student academic achievement; and • Part of an overall education reform strategy [section 5131]. Office of Staff Development

Title V, Part A – Innovative Programs Projects and activities must be organized around the following themes: • Education Reform and School Improvement • Technology and Educational Material • Literacy, Early Childhood Education, and Adult Education • Students with Special Needs • Community Service and Community Involvement • Health Services • Parental Options • Teacher Quality, Professional Development Office of Staff Development
