  1. Broadband Wireless access including RLANs & ad-hoc Networking Dr. Gabrielle Owen, ETSI TC ERM Chair

  2. DECT Activities • DECT New Generation combination of telephony and data services support of wide-band voice-over-ip provides internet connectivity • DECT Ultra Low Energy battery life time of 5 to 10 years first application is home control specification planned for 2012

  3. BRAN and ERM TG11 Activities • 5 GHz Harmonized Standard for RLANs already updated to anticipate future high throughput/high bandwidth systems based on IEEE 802.11ac • 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz Harmonized Standards being modified to improve sharing mechanisms providing co-existence of all users of these bands

  4. BRAN and ERM TG11 Activities • 3.5 GHz BWA Base Stations Harmonised Standard aligned with UMTS standards to ensure co-existence in the band • 60 GHz Harmonized Standard modified for higher power levels allowed for outdoor RLANs • pre-standardization work on very high capacity density BWA networks initiated
