What Do I Need to Do? • You’ve already taken the first step by coming here today • Meeting times are when needed and by appointment – most likely clinic days • You will have project checkpoint deadlines to meet • IT IS REALLY, REALLY IMPORTANT THAT YOU STAY ON SCHEDULE! • Need your topic by 11/1!!!
Which Fair? There are two competitions we participate in: Pennsylvania Junior Academy of Science (PJAS)- February at Bensalem High School (entry level) This is a local fair. First place winners of this fair go on to Penn State in May. Bucks County Science Fair, AKA Intel– March at Delaware Valley College (entry level) This is a local fair. First place winners of this fair go on to the regional fair, Delaware Valley Science Fair at Oaks in April. Special first place winners of this fair go on to the national fair in May.
Your Project • Your project can be about any science, engineering or math related topic • Keep in mind that there are restrictions on what you are permitted to work with – certain microbes and chemicals are not allowed – this is why you must be pre-approved by me. • No computer projects – no longer accepted • Come up with project yourself! • Keep it simple! The judges will not be impressed with your work if you cannot explain what you did!
