  1. Lingfield Equine Vets “Excellence in Equine” Summer Newsletter ‘Excellence in Equine’ Latest News: As the winter slowly but surely draws to an end, the days are getting longer and the nights shorter we can start to think about getting our horses fit and ready for the summer months. As always we, at Lingfield Equine Vets, are always available to answer your questions about your horse and are here to help so please don’t hesitate to contact us. Chester Lodge Building work: As many of you know the work at Chester Lodge continues. We have extended the car park, thereby making manoeuvring your horse boxes easier. We are building more on-site accommodation to enable more vets and nurses to stay onsite to provide 24 hour care to your horse during his/her stay with. A small animal practice will also open onsite in April 2011. The practice is separate from LEVand we will continue to specialise in Equines only however there will be some shared equipment. This will enable us to run some blood and urine analysis on site. We have also acquired more grazing bringing the total up to 12 acres! Charity Talks: After the snow forced us to cancel our last talk, we have re-arranged it for what we hope will be a warmer time of year! Once again this event will be kindly hosted at Oldencraig Equestrian Centre. The main topic for discussion on this upcoming night will be ‘Avoiding the pitfalls when buying a horse’ and will be given by our experienced guest speaker Jeremy Mantell from the Liphook Equine Hospital. The talk will start at 7pm on XXXX Publications: Rachel Atherton, our resident medicine specialist had a research paper published in a peer reviewed journal. Rebecca Mouncey has also had an article published in Horse & Hound’s ‘Vet Clinic’ and Rebecca & Natasha Stonley have contributed to a worming article which is due to be published in ‘Horse’ magazine in April. At LEV, we aware of the necessity to be up to date with the latest veterinary research and look forward to having more of our research and articles published! Congratulations: Kate Gibson passed her equine medicine certificate at the beginning of the year thereby adding the letters cert EVP (Intmed) (Cert AVAP (Equine Medicine) MRCVS )after her name. This is a phenomenal achievement and the culmination of many hours of study so we would like to take the opportunity to say congratulations to her. In addition Natasha Stonely, our equine assistant, passed her masters in Equine Management. Her final dissertation was focused on deworming horses so Natasha has been fantastic at instigating our practice evidence based worming programme. Please feel free to ask us for more information Goodbye and thanks:Tori Ludlow has sadly left LEV to join an equine practice in Hampshire after her fiance – a large animal vet – was offered an exciting opportunity in Winchester. She has been an asset to the team and we would like to take this opportunity to thank her for all her hard work; she will be missed! We will be hiring another vet but finding the ideal candidate can be slow so watch this space! Facebook: We are endeavouring to keep our clients as up to date as possible with our practice news so follow us on facebook to find out more. Try our quiz and win a free routine dental rasp for your horse! Vaccination reminders: Following the positive feedback from our customers to our text message reminders, we are continuing to offer this service. Please make sure you tell us if you change your mobile phone number so we can ensure that you receive your reminders! Online store:Competitively priced supplements delivered to your door! LEV is the first equine surgery in the country to be able to offer all our customers’ the full range of vet recommended Equistro products which can be purchased online for delivery to your home/yard address.  Your purchase will need to be made on our online store at www.lingfieldequinevets.com.
