  5. Hunter-Gather A Hunter-Gather is a nomadic person who lived in Southwest Asia before people developed city-states

  6. Fertile Fertile is rich in resources and nutrients. Areas have depended on the annual flooding of the river to make the soil fertile

  7. Irrigation Irrigation is a process that brings water to dry land.

  8. The Dead Sea The Dead Sea is known at the lowest place on earth. The reason why it is called The Dead Sea is because there is no life in the Dead Sea because there is too much salt for any animal to live in it. There is so much salt in the Dead Sea it builds up on the rocks on the shore. The high level of salt allows your body to float on top of the water.

  10. Hammurabi Hammurabi was a famous emperor of ancient Mesopotamia who wrote 282 strict laws on a black stone.

  11. Fertile Crescent The nickname given to a region in Southwest Asia around the Tigris and Euphrates rivers is the Fertile Crescent

  12. Sumerians The first people to develop city-states in ancient Mesopotamia.

  13. Ziggurat A Ziggurat is a pyramid-shaped tower in ancient Mesopotamia with a temple on top.

  14. Class system Class system is a system in which divided people into different social groups.

  15. Cuneiform Cuneiform is one of the first systems of writing in ancient Mesopotamia done on wet clay.

  16. Scribes Scribes are people in ancient cultures who were taught to read and write.

  17. Ancient Egypt The Nile River was used by the ancient Egyptians for many things. They fished for food, washed themselves and their clothes, and collected water for irrigation, drinking and cooking. They also traveled by boat around Egypt and into the Mediterranean Sea to trade with other cultures.

  18. Hieroglyphics Hieroglyphics is a writing using pictures and symbolism people used Hieroglyphics in ancient Egypt

  19. Egyptian culture The cat in ancient Egypt, or maw, was a sacred and respected beast. These small companions fascinated the Egyptians, and were venerated by all. It was in Egypt that the cat was first domesticated 4,000 years ago and where they were held in the most admiration and respect.

  23. Abraham The man who said Yahweh spoke to him and his decendants practice Judaism is Abraham

  24. Judaism the religion founded by Abraham is Judaism

  25. Jesus Some people believed that Jesus was the savior spoken of in the Jewish religion.

  26. Scripture Religious texts, also known as Sacred Scripture.

  27. Exile Exile is when you are forced out of your native country

  28. Messiah Messiah means one who is anticipated as, regarded as, or professes to be a savior or liberator.

  29. Baptize In Christianity, baptism is the ritual act, with the use of water, by which one is admitted as a full member of the Church

  30. Christianity Christianity is a religion that developed out of Judaism and is based Jesus.

  31. Resurrect Is when a person is brought back from the dead.

  32. Disciple A disciple is a follower of someone.

  33. Crucify To Crucify it to nail some body hands and feet to a cross.

  34. Muhammad Muhammad said the angel Gabriel spoke to him and he founded Islam

  35. Islam Islam is a religion that teaches that there is one god and Muhammad is his prophet.

  36. Muslim A Muslim is a follower of the religion Islam.

  37. The Qur’an This is the sacred book of Islam. It is like the Bible but for Muslims not Christians.

  38. Prophet A prophet is someone who speaks throw another person.

  39. Five Pillars of Islam 1.Faith or belief in the Oneness of God and the finality of the prophethood of Muhammad; 2.Establishment of the daily prayers; 3.Concern for and almsgiving to the needy; 4.Self-purification through fasting; and 5.The pilgrimage to Makkah for those who are able.

  40. Theocracy Theocracy is a form of government in which a god or deity is recognized as the supreme civil ruler.
