4. DAY 1 • Welcome to Ireland! Collect your luggage, move through customs, and be welcomed by your tour escort. • Visit the picturesque north Dublin coast, seeing the resort town of Malahide and the fishing village of Howth. You’ll see the Malahide Castle, one of the oldest and most historic castles in Ireland. From 1185 to 1975, it was the home of the Anglo-Norman Talbot family . This was a remarkable tenure by a single family and is one of the longest in Ireland. • Lunch at the Abbey Tavern – included • Continue to Dublin; enjoy the friendly capital of Ireland, a 1,000 year old Viking settlement situated on the banks of the River Liffey. • Afternoon guided city tour to include the highlights of Dublin: General Post Office, Bank of Ireland, the Old Parliament House, Phoenix Park and Christchurch. Enjoy your tour of St. Patrick’s Cathedral, said to be the earliest Christian site in Ireland, and where St. Patrick baptized converts. A wooden church stood on the site from the 5th century to about 1191, when the church was raised to the status of a cathedral. The present building, the largest Gothic church in Ireland, was built between 1191 and 1270. 22. DAY 2 • Breakfast at hotel- included • Visit Trinity College, founded in 1592, to see the Book of Kells, a beautifully illuminated manuscript • Possible recital in St. Patrick’s Cathedral*. . Please note that a recital is informal in nature, cannot be promoted, and is arranged with the objective of offering groups an opportunity to perform in a cultural or historically significant venue. Lunch – on own • Afternoon excursion to the Wicklow MountainsNational Park with a visit to Glendalough, an early Christian ecclesiastical settlement founded by St. Kevin in the 6th century. Glendalough, "the glen of the two lakes", is set in a deep valley beneath sheer cliffs with two clear-water lakes which were carved out by glaciers during the Ice Age. This is a truly spellbinding place - an ancient monastic settlement with remains of a superb round tower, stone churches and decorated crosses. • Visit Powerscourt House and Gardens, one of Europe’s great treasures, and Ireland’s most beautiful country estate. The 12th century castle was remodeled in the 1700’s with a Palladian grand entrance and boasts 47 magnificent acres of gardens and waterfalls. • Dinner – on own in Dublin • Evening performance opportunity at a venue in central Dublin. DAY 3 • Breakfast at hotel – included; checkout of hotel and load coaches; depart for Kilkenny • Noon recital at St. Canice’s Cathedral in Kilkenny* • Continue to Cashel, where you will explore the extraordinary collection of religious shrines and buildings that stand on the striking Rock of Cashel, which forms one of Ireland’s most spectacular archaeological sites. Visit the Round Tower, the Abbey, and Hall of Vicars – all now ruined but preserved for posterity. Brian Boru was crowned the first High King of Ireland here in the 10th century. The Rock of Cashel served as the traditional seat of the Kings of Munster for several hundred years prior to the Norman invasion. • Check-in to hotel in Killarney; possible hotel: Eviston House Hotel • Dinner at hotel - included Dublin & Killarney

44. DAY 4 • Breakfast at hotel – included • Set off on the classic southwest Ireland adventure: the driver around the Ring of Kerry circuit. You will see the full variety of Ireland’s best scenery – lakes, mountains, peat bogs, valleys and the ocean. Travel via Killorglin, famed for the Puck Fair, and Cahersiveen, the birthplace of Daniel O’Connell, Ireland’s national hero. Continue through peat bogs to the town of Waterville and Sneem Village, famous for it’s brightly colored houses. The road then continues through the mountains to Molls Gap and Ladies View with superb views of the famous Lakes of Killarney. • Lunch – on own • Visit Muckross House and Gardens, situated close to the shores of Muckross Lake, amidst the beautiful scenery of Killarney National Park. Completed in 1843, the property was later owned by the Guinness family. Traditional farms are situated adjacent to Muckross House, recreating and portraying the traditional farming methods, and the way of life of a typical local, rural community of the 1930’s prior to the advent of electricity in the rural areas. The Muckross Craft Workshops are world-renown for their pottery, weaving and other crafts. • Remainder of day free to explore Killarney on your own Ring of Kerry
