  1. WETT Inspection If you are heating your home with wood (wood stove, furnace or pellet stove) or have a fireplace and have never had a WETT inspection performed, you could be at risk! WETT inspections should be performed on an annual basis if your wood burning appliance is used regularly. Your insurance provider may also require a WETT inspection if your policy is renewing or if you have just purchased a home equipped with a wood burning appliance. A WETT Inspection (Wood Energy Technology Transfer) verifies the installation, condition and code compliance of wood burning appliances. Our experience with wood stove, fireplace, chimney and pellet stove inspections is that approximately 80% of the time they fail upon initial inspection!!
