  11. Who can use the service? • Faculty in the classroom • Staff involved in providing training to departments and individuals • Student groups with training needs

  12. Are there any user requirements? • Users must have the following: • An active Penn State Access Account (not FPS Accounts) • PC with a browser Internet connection • An ANGEL group to log into

  13. Where can it be done? • In our lab • In a departmental lab • In an ITS technology classroom • Virtually using ANGEL • Virtually using WBT’s Training Plan

  14. When can it be done? • At any time of the year based on resource availability. • At your convenience for Web-based only • As time, personnel and lab availability dictates for hands-on instruction

  15. Why is this service available? • Undergrads were identified as under served population. • Faculty asked. • Students want just in time training that is relevant to their coursework.

  16. How is it done? • Consulting session on available resources and point of contact for learners (ANGEL, WBT, own Website, etc.) • Determine the training needs of the learners (specific skills and knowledge) • Coordinate and/or teach customer to use the tools needed to access the resources

Examples of Successful Blends • Online magazine class • ANGEL served as the hub for online resources like WBT courses (DreamWeaver, Grammar Skills, Design Skills, etc.) and links to handouts • Hands-on training session (75 minutes) on using DreamWeaver • Present a persuasive argument in print, on the Web, or using presentation software • ANGEL served as hub for online resources like WBT courses (Word, Publisher, PowerPoint, FrontPage, writing skills, communication skills, etc.) and links to handouts • Software overview/demonstration and shared several real-life examples • Review on HTML • ANGEL served as the hub for online resources like WBT courses (HTML, XML, etc.) • Hands-on HTML (75 minutes) training • Graduate course on counseling education • ANGEL served as the hub for online resources like WBT courses (PowerPoint, Communication skills, writing skills, etc.) • Hands-on Basic PowerPoint (120 minutes) training
