  1. The professor suggested using distributive practice rather than massed practice. That is, find one to two hours at the same time each day for six days out of the week (do take the seventh day off) for inquiring statistics, this way you will be able to maintain regularity. Do not shove your study for four or five hours into one or two sittings each week. This is a cardinal principle of learning Statistics. 2. Always try to study in triads or quads of a group of students at least once every week. The verbal exchange and interpretation of concepts and skills with other pupils strengthen a greater depth of understanding. 3. Don't try to memorize the Statistical formulas (A good tutor will never ask you to do this). Always study and keep a clear concept about everything you read. Remember, later in life when you need to use a statistical technique you can always look the formula up from a textbook. 4. Work as many and varied problems and exercises as you possibly can daily. Hopefully, your textbook is accompanied by a workbook or exercise book. You cannot learn statistics by just reading about it, you need practice. You must push the pencil and practice your skills repeatedly and regularly. 5. Search for reoccurring themes in statistics. There are probably only a handful of significant skills that keep popping up over and over again. Ask your teacher to highlight these if need be. 6. Try to think like a Psychologist! In other words, identify that the whole of statistics is greater than the sum of its parts. It is very easy to get hung up on nit-picking facts and fail to see the jungle because of the trees. 7. If you are a prey of math or stat anxiety (Maybe 70 % of the general population are) do something about it! Most universities understand the devastating nature of this problem and provide excellent counseling programs for the improvement of this disability. Do yourself an indulgence and get help. This may become the best decision you make in undergraduate or high- school level education.
