Does lord Shani cause difficulties or helps overcome them????<br>According to mythology, Shaneshwar is the seventh of navagrahas (nine celestial gods) and is son of lord Surya (sun) and his wife chayya (shadow). Many people believe that lord shani causes difficulties and is reason behind misfortunes. This is because he is the husband of jyestadevi also known as daridralakshmi (goddess of misfortunes). This is just a calumny. According to astrology, lord Shani and ayush (life) are always against each other. Lord Shani’s mother performed penance of lord Shiva when she was pregnant with him. Shani charitra suggests that he was born dark, lame and catastrophic due to his mother’s fasting. It is said that Shani then performed penance of lord Shiva and got boons. Lord Shiva appeared infront of Shani on triyodasi, so he is very fond of that day. So those who worship Shani on Shani Trayodasi will be relieved from Misfortunes. Shani provides Protection from three types of hardships and provides desired fortunes.Shani dosham can be overcome by devotion to lord Shiva, lord Hanuman, lord Ayyappa, lord Venkateshwara, etc. People who abuse Shani cannot get away from hardships. People doing their duties with discipline are blessed with good fortunes by lord shani.<br><br>What rules are to be followed on Shani triyodasi???<br>We should follow some rules on Shani triyodasi, a day lord Shani is very fond of. It is believed that worshipping Shani on that day and performing abhishekam minimizes the impact of shani dosha. Firstly on must take head bath before sunrise. People who are fit and can observe fast on that day must do so. Devotees must refrain from all bad practices including drinking and having non-veg. One must chant the following sloka the whole day.<br>Neelanjana samabhasam raviputram yamagrajam| <br>Chaya martanda sambhutam tam namami sanieshwaram ||<br>One can even chant shiva panchaakshari (namah sivaya). We can please lord Shani by feeding poor and disabled. Primarily, watching abhishekam of Shaneshwara will result in good fortune. Worshipping with a pure heart, hard work and helping others are the three factors that please lord Shani. Lord Shani doesn’t cause any difficulties to such people. Lord Shani helps people who performing acts like feeding crows with til laddus, to overcome all kinds of difficulties. <br><br>
