CSC/FAR 020, Computer Graphics, November 4, 2013 Dr. Dale E. Parson http://faculty.kutztown.edu/parson Assignment 6, due November 13
Assignment 6 • Create a Folder called FirstLastType. This is the last assignment to focus on Photoshop mechanics. • Use your own photographic images. • This assignment requires one completed image. It focuses on the Type Tool integrated into an image. • Do something creative with Type Tool that integrates type into an image. Use your imagination. • Make a poster, an advertisement, a flyer, or integrate some poetry into an image.
Assignment 6 – Type • This one is due on November 13 as YournameType.zip. • I will look for at least 4 substantial type transforms beyond type-font-color alterations, for example level effects (fx) and post-rasterization transforms. Make sure to include your log file description of these steps. See the next page for details. • For the compositional 10% turn in either a composition with which you are entirely happy – unified theme, central focus of message, grabs attention and gets a point across – or three experiments that show exploration of tool features.
Checklist considerations • If you missed the type classes, ask someone what we covered, and check the handout. We covered fx layers, smart filter layers, fx libraries (on the styles window), text screening using the layer mask and adjustment layers, text geometric transformations, text-oriented filters, and related techniques. • “At least 4” on the previous page means at least 4 of these text-appearance oriented techniques. Make sure to log them.
