Why I Chose this Book I chose this book because Lafayette is my favorite of all time historical figure. He is my favorite hero because… • He was French but he helped the American cause • He was loyal to George Washington and the Patriots • Even though Lafayette went through a family crisis he persevered/never gave up
My Opinion • I loved this book because… • It was something that I have an interest in which is history • It was a biography about one of my two favorite historical figures, Lafayette • It was interesting to learn about Lafayette’s family • I learned that Louis XV and Louis XVI were the rulers of France during Lafayette’s life • I disliked the book because… • It was not well written • It wasn’t interesting because I already knew lots of the facts

Conflicts • Lafayette was an orphan • The French kings did not want Lafayette to sail across the Atlantic Ocean to America, so he had to secretly buy a ship and crew and leave from Spain instead of France • His second child died at the age of 2 and a half • At his first battle, the Battle of Brandywine Creek, he got shot in the upper thigh
