  2. What is the CBL? The Community Basketball Leagues, LLC also known as the CBL, offers amateur co-ed basketball leagues that promotes health and wellness, life skills education and local business stewardship on a national scale. The CBL Disclaimer! The CBL is not “in any way” associated with any collegiate and/or professional sports leagues and/or organizations. All CBL players are considered “amateurs” and are not compensated in any way. Current collegiate and professional athletes are allowed to participate in the CBL leagues and in our development programs.

What makes the CBL the “Ultimate Amateur Basketball Experience”? • Professional basketball league draft process • Team lottery selection • Life skills seminars and workshops • Conditioning program and trainers • 1st Round Draft Pick and Free Agent levels • Player/team power rankings done every week • All Star teams • All-Star Weekend Event • Lots of fans per game day • Equal playing time for every player

CBL Participation Levels • 1st Round Draft Player… Is a member of Board of Directors for their league and also functions as the general manager of his or her team in the adult league. • Free Agent Player… Is a player that will be assigned to a team or selected by a 1st Round Draft Pick player in the adult league.

  5. CBL Jr. & CBL 40 Leagues CBL Jr. • Boys & girls league (ages 7 to 16 yrs.) • 12 to 18 teams with 12 man rosters • Equal playing time for every player • Basketball Clinics and Camps for youth CBL 40 • Co-ed over 40 league • 6 teams with 8 man rosters • Half-court game 40 minute game

  6. CBL Governing Bylaws The CBL Bylaws Articles consist of: • League Structure • Team Sponsorship/Set Roster • Player Draft Selection Process • Trading Players • Conduct, Eligibility, and Image Contract • Game Rules • CBL Player Agent Advocates • The Regular Season and Playoffs

  7. Weekly CBL Events • Team and Board of Director meetings • Team and Player Power Rankings • Life Skills Development meetings • Local Business Stewardship Assignment • League games

The CBL Staff Needs The CBL does not require previous experience in running a basketball league just a sincere interest and passion for all participants to be successful and have fun with the CBL experience. CBL Staff Positions: • Commissioner • Director, Operations • Student Interns (2) • Athletic Trainer

Potential CBL Licensee Candidates • Basketball coaches (current or former) • Former/retired basketball players • Current professional basketball players • Athletic administrators • Municipalities/Parks Recreation Depts. • Basketball and/or sports facilities/programs/businesses • Non-profit organizations (youth & educational based) • Basketball enthusiast

CBL Licensee Revenue Generators Community Basketball Leagues Licensee business model is based on five to six revenue generators: • Local Sponsorship Sales: local businesses that sponsor and advertise with the CBL. • Player Registration (Option B and C only) Sales: Players fee to play in each city's league. • Gate Sales: Admission for CBL games and events. • Apparel and Products Sales: Products CBL participates and fans (i.e. t-shirts, apparel, shoes, playbooks, posters, concessions, etc.) • Auxiliary Sales: Game videos, pictures/posters, etc. • Non-profit organizations qualify for grants!

  12. CBL Participation Fees Players may select to play in the CBL as a 1st Round Draft pick or as a Free Agent player. The CBL Licensee suggested fees are as follows: • 1st Round Draft pick fee - $150.00 • Free Agent fee - $75.00 • Set team roster fee - $975 • See sales projection breakdown

  13. 1st Year Sales Projections • CBL Licensee Option A: • Total Sales $32,000.00 • CBL Licensee Option B: • Total Sales $39,560.00 • CBL Licensee Option C: • Total Sales $48,200.00 * Based on the 2008-09 prototype league – CBL Michiana

Tentative 2010 CBL Schedule Player Registration Deadline - April 15thth Player Draft Event - April 3rd Team Lottery Selection - April 3rd League Play Begins - May 1st All-Star Votes - June 15th – 30th All-Star Teams Announced - July 1st All-Star Weekend - July 9th Weekend All-Star Weekend Event - July 11th Playoffs Begins - July 23rd Community Unity Finals - August 6th, 7th, & 8th CBL Golf Tournament - August 14th Banquet Ceremony - August 21st
