Need to take better care of them L1116 light arty this project replaces the l5 105mm pack howitzer in its air mobile role with 28 french giat lg 1 light guns, and upgrades 96 105mm c1 howitzers to c3 status. The guns can fire extended range ammunition up to 18 km. The lg 1 is also transportable by the new griffon helicopter. The first six light guns were delivered in dec 95 and delivery of the upgraded c1 should start in mid 1996. The contract for the 105mm extended range ammunition was awarded in oct 95. However, the 105mm is not going to be the primary weapon of the artillery. The land force still plans to concentrate on the more op effective 155mm gun.L1116 light arty this project replaces the l5 105mm pack howitzer in its air mobile role with 28 french giat lg 1 light guns, and upgrades 96 105mm c1 howitzers to c3 status. 6. Ammunition and Digitization Ammunition
M549 RAP and M795 projectiles delivered to TFA
Modular Artillery Charge System (MACS) propellant delivered to TFA (insensitive)
Excalibur delivered to TFA
Other Issues
AHSVS fielded to TFA and training fleet Digitization
DGMS systems installed in TFA
Two DGMS systems in Canada for training The up date on the ammo is:
We received all the (400) Rocket assisted projectiles and the (16 hundred) HE projectile and the (30 thousands) MACS charges.
Excalibur is still on testing and acceptance in US. We are expecting to have delivery to TFA in March/April 07
The update on the digital side is:
Trial in July 06 was a success
4 systems integrated in theatre
2 system integrated in Canada for trg
DGMS upgrade expected in Mid of the year. The main upgrade is the power source and the GPS Card inside of the system.

19. Miscellaneous The artillery has done amazingly well in fielding new capabilities via UOR for Afghanistan
We’re working of a number of MRs for 2007 but …
Top priority for 2007 will continue to be UORs (FAC equipment, etc) to support deployed operations
Discuss UORs with DLR 2 before submitting so that we can help speed the process
Don’t forget Tech Staff/Tech WO course
