Purpose • To evaluate the incidence of corneal haze and complications according to different treatment time of Mitomycin-c during PRK
Method • NIDEK EC 5000 • PRK • 0.02% mitomycin-C • Application time – 1 min vs 2 min • BSS irrigation • T – lens • Steroid, artificial tears
Summary • Myopic regression happen more in 1 minute group • Corneal opacity happen less in 2 minute group than in 1 minute group (3% vs 12%) • Most of the corneal haze were trace • Only 1 in 1 minute group was grade 1 • Both method showed no severe complications
Conclusion • Mitomycin-C in PRK is a safe and effective method for the prevention of corneal haze • 2 minute application was more effective • 1 minute was acceptable without severe haze
