  3. “IP Management @ Universities”Istanbul, April 14 to 15, 2011Albert Long Hall, BOGAZICI UNIVERSITY About IP SupportUnit • As it is broken ground in this issue, by support of Turkish Patent Institute (TPI) a protocol to establish an "IP Support Unit" was prepared together with the TPI. • This protocol was signed between Gazi University and TPI on 07 May 2007 and come into force afterwards. • IP Support Unit is established under the Secretariat General.   4. “IP Management @ Universities”Istanbul, April 14 to 15, 2011Albert Long Hall, BOGAZICI UNIVERSITY Duties • To inform academic staff and students who would like to apply for an international or national patent or industrial design application about the granting process by one to one consultation • To provide the continuity of the process by doing search both nationally and internationally about the results of the studies and to develop tangible strategies in the lights of feedback received • To continue activities by being in interaction and close collaboration with academic staff, students, related units of the university, Turkish Patent Institute (TPI) and The Scientific & Technological Research Council of Turkey (TÜBİTAK) Ms. A.   6. “IP Management @ Universities”Istanbul, April 14 to 15, 2011Albert Long Hall, BOGAZICI UNIVERSITY European Patent Office pilot project • June 2007: Gazi University and Turkish Patent Institute applied together for the pilot application about "Establishment of Technology Transfer Offices in Universities and Operation thereof" within the context of European Patent Office pilot project • October 2007: European Patent Office accepted our application about "Establishment of Technology Transfer Offices in Universities and Operation thereof" pilot project • April 2008: Our staff attended the seminar on "Technology Transfer from University to Industry" which was held by European Patent Academy in Munich • January 2009: EPO and TPI provided various office equipments for technical infrastructure Ms. A.
