  1. Classroom rules Ms. Wigley’s Class

  2. Arrive On Time With All Materials • Students should be in their seat when the tardy bell rings. • Students should have a library book, sharpened pencil/pen, notebook paper, spelling list, and any homework that is due. • If you do not have these materials, then you are not prepared for class.

  3. Keep Hands, Feet, & Objects To Yourself • Students do not need to touch other students. • Students need to keep all objects (books, phones, toys, etc.) to themselves. • Nothing should ever be thrown or kicked in the classroom.

  4. Follow Directions The 1st Time They Are Given • The teacher should not have to repeat any directions. • Students need to listen to what the teacher has to say and follow those directions immediately.

  5. Use Positive Language • “If you don’t have something nice to say, don’t say anything at all.” • Encourage fellow classmates, do not reprimand them (it’s not your job). • Inappropriate language will not be permissible. • Think before you speak. • Only ask questions that relate to what we are learning (all other questions can be asked before or after class).

  6. Stay On Task During All Work Times • Complete your work when you are supposed to complete it. • Focus on your work, not socializing with other people. • Keep your thoughts to yourself-don’t think out loud.

  7. Talk Only When Appropriate • If the teacher is talking, you are NOT talking. • If another student has been given permission to talk, you are NOT talking. • If you are supposed to be working quietly at your desk, you are NOT talking. • During SSR/SSW time, you are NOT talking. • If you are doing group work, you ARE talking. • If you are done with your work for the day, you are NOT talking.

  8. Consequences For Rule Violations • Verbal Warning • Time Owed After Class • Work At The Study Carrel • Contact Parent • Detention • Office Referral

  9. QUESTIONS??? Think before you speak.
