Founded in 1989, California State University San Marcos opened its doors to students in the fall of 1990. It is the first of a new generation of Cal State Universities. Competency in Education Specific Electronic Tool EDUC 422 must be completed prior to admission to CSUSM credential programs. EDUC 422 is a 3-unit course offered each semester and summer. It is also offered as three 1-unit courses. Exemption of EDUC 422 requires submission of a 3-part waiver portfolio.
