  2. When you start thinking about or preparing to cast vision, it’s so important to…

  3. Preparing to See • Pray = Ask the Lord! • Scripture = What has God already said? • Evaluation = Look at where we are and where we have been.

  4. I sure hope you’ve been praying for the church and all God wants us to be.

  5. Let’s pray and then we’ll jump into the Word of God together.

  6. Habakkuk 2:1-3 I will stand on my guard post and station myself on the rampart; and I will keep watch to see what He will speak to me, and how I may reply when I am

  7. Habakkuk 2:1-3 reproved. Then the Lord answered me and said, “Record the vision and inscribe it on tablets, that the one who reads it may run. For the vision is yet

  8. Habakkuk 2:1-3 for the appointed time; it hastens toward the goal and it will not fail. Though it tarries, wait for it; for it will certainly come, it will not delay.”

  9. Clear Vision comes from God and His Word.

  10. If I write down my vision for God’s church, it will need to be corrected and approved by God.

  11. Don’t be deceived by your physical eyes, this process will require faith and spiritual eyesight.

  12. We’re supposed to write the vision down in such a way that God’s children can accomplish it.

  13. Proverbs 29:18 Where there is no vision, the people perish... KJV

  14. Proverbs 29:18 Where there is no vision, the people perish; but he that keepeth the law, happy is he. KJV

  15. Proverbs 29:18 Where there is no vision, the people are unrestrained, but happy is he who keeps the law. NASB

  16. There’s a connection between obedience and good vision!

  17. There’s also a connection between obedience and happiness.

  18. Let’s develop this a little bit more!

  19. John 14:15 If you love Me, you will keep My commandments.

  20. I John 5:2-3 By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and observe His command-ments. For this is the love of God, that we keep His

  21. I John 5:2-3 commandments; and His commandments are not burdensome.

  22. There’s a connection between loving God and obeying God.

  23. Obeying God is not a burden.

  24. Obedience • Demonstrates love • Demonstrates vision • Brings happiness

  25. James 1:26 If anyone thinks himself to be religious, and yet does not bridle his tongue but deceives his own heart, this man’s religion is worthless.

  26. James 1:27 Pure and undefiled religion in the sight of our God and Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself unstained by the world.

  27. Pure Religion • Care for the Widows • Care for the Orphans • Keep ourselves unstained by the world! (Loving Obedience)

  28. Obedience • Demonstrates religion • Demonstrates love • Demonstrates vision • Brings happiness

  29. Are we beginning to see a pattern or theme?

  30. Matthew 25:31-40 But when the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the angels with Him, then He will sit on His glorious throne. And all the nations will be gathered before

  38. Does God have all of our heart or just some of it?

  39. God wants us to develop a lifestyle of giving, caring and loving that comes from a circumcised heart.

  40. Ecclesiastes 12:13 The conclusion, when all has been heard, is: fear God and keep His commandments, because this applies to every person.

  41. Ecclesiastes 12:14 For God will bring every act to judgment, everything which is hidden, whether it is good or evil.

  42. It all boils down to loving obedience.

  43. Does God have all of our heart or just some of it?

  44. Let’s take a quick look at our mission statement.

  47. I don’t want to assume anything, so let’s define it.
