  1. AVG 6.0 Updating and Running Antivirus

  2. Starting • Click the Icon on the Desktop to start AVG • Check to see if the Virus Database is up to date. • If not, click Virus Database

  3. Updating • Click Update • The AVG Control Center will open • Click Update Now

  4. Updating 2 • The download should start • When download is done close AVG. • Restart AVG and the updates should install

  5. Updating 3 • When the update is done you will see the new date in the Virus Database menu

  6. Changing Settings • If your AVG is in Advance mode you can change it by clicking on program. • Then Click Switch to Basic

  7. Running • To scan your computer Click Run Complete Test • The Scanning will start • If a virus is found it will ask you if you want to Heal the file • Click yes.

  8. Closing • If AVG can’t Heal the file it will ask if you want to put it in the Vault • Click Yes • If the file is a Trojan you’ll need to install and run SpyBot • SpyBot can be downloaded from the Marshall County School web page http://www.mcs.k12.tn.us
