Thus Far • Growth is necessary for life • Physical • Mental • Emotional • Spiritual • Which of these stops, decreases, slows or declines? • Which of these never stops, decreases, slows or declines? • Which of these is necessary for better relationships? • Which is these is necessary for maturity?

  3. Thus Far • What is potential? • Is it necessary to realize all of your potential? • Do you sometimes have to make a choice? If so, what factors are best in determining a good choice? • Choices in college • Choices after college • Choices when a family arrives • Is it possible that pursuing your potential might stunt your growth?

Thus Far • What is a lesson you have learned in the school of life? • #5 on p. 34 • What positive lessons have you learned from a non-example or a negative event? • In what way is freedom necessary for learning? • How can freedom prevent, slow or get in the way of learning? • What does learning do for you?

Thinking with Jesus • Jesus once said, “24 If any man would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. 25 For whoever would save his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it. 26 For what will it profit a man, if he gains the whole world and forfeits his life? Or what shall a man give in return for his life?” (Mt 16.24-25) • What does Jesus mean in verse 24? • Is verse 25 different or the same as verse 24? If the same, why is it said? If different, in what way? • How would you answer the questions in verse 26?
