Day 1: Record the word part and its meaning in your personal journal. -OUS means “HAVING or FULL OF”
Day 2 –Combine and Create Brainstorm with a partner how these words connect to the meaning of the word part “ous”. cancerous porous famous gracious spacious
Day 3: Words and Meanings • Porous: Easy to cross, full of pores • Cancerous: any disease characterized by such growths • Famous: known or recognized by very many people : having fame • Spacious: occupying a large area • Gracious: pleasantly kind, merciful or compassionate
Day 3 – Combine & Create • 1.Using the word part “ous” which means “having or full of”, make up your own word. • 2.Include a definition for the word. • 3.Use the new word in a sentence. • 4.Be ready to share the new word! • EXAMPLE WORD: – (adj) Computerous: having a lot or being full of computers. • EXAMPLE SENTENCE: The room was very computerous.
Day 4: Journal • Write a one page journal using 3 or more of the words. The journal must be 1 whole page, red line to red line. • Be ready to share your journal!!!
Day 5: Illustrate the word • Choose one of the 5 words that we have covered in class and draw that word. • Make sure it is colorful • Be prepared to share your picture!
