  2. Your Voice Your voice can be heard on issues that affect citizens with developmental disabilities: • Keeping the voter registration and voting process accessible. • Access to the community • And other issues that are important to you, your family and your friends.

  3. Register to Vote! Registering to vote gives citizens with developmental disabilities the power to: • Choose who represents them. • Voice their opinions. • Be fairly represented.

  4. Who Can Register? • You can register to vote if you are … • A citizen of the United States. • A Florida resident. • Age 16 or older. • You can pre-register on or after your 16th birthday, but you will not be able to vote in any election until age 18.

  5. Am I Registered? You can check to see if you are a registered voter: • Online at: http://registration.election.myflorida.com. • Your local Supervisor of Elections office. • Voter Assistance Hotline (in English and Español) toll-free at 1-866-308-6739 or TTY at 1-800-955-8771.

  6. How Can I Register? You can register to vote at: • Your local Supervisor of Elections office. • Department of Motor Vehicles. • Public library. • Any office that provides assistance to citizens with disabilities. • Online at http://election.dos.state.fl.us/. The Florida Voter Registration Application requires an original signature.

  7. 2012 Voter Registration Closing Dates • July 16, 2012……………………......Primary Election • October 9, 2012………….........……General Election • Register early to avoid any issues that could prevent you from voting.

  8. Updating your Information Keep the following information up-to-date with your local Supervisor of Elections office: • Name • Address • Political Party • Signature

  9. 2012 Voting Facts • Participate in early voting. • Early voting: October 27 – November 3, 2012. • Contact your local Supervisor of Elections office to learn what times your local polls will be open. • Take a photo ID with you to the polls to avoid problems voting.
