Methods • Review of data held for March & September 2007 cohorts • Paper based admission information entered for rejected applicants • Extensive supplemental data entry for accepted applicants with data verification as well as extraction from other databases with other formats • Exam board records and Strategic Health Authority reports

Summary • The higher the entry qualification level, the more likely someone stayed with the programme and exited with the highest academic achievement. • Those entering with GCSE level entry qualifications struggle, are more likely to leave within the first year, but those who stay, nearly one half achieved a Level 6 qualification. • More of those entering via an Access route, appear to leave in Year 2 and have the greatest percentage of Level 5 qualifications on exit.
