  1. Not to Miss These Top Attractions of Rome It is a city that is proud of its pristine glorious heritage and expanded its empire throughout Europe, Africa, and Asia. Rome is drenched in history and Christianity. It’s hard to know where to go first, because your interests will govern your own choice, but there are certain sites that are mandatory to visit these top attractions of Rome, such as the Colosseum and the Palatine Hill. Top 5 Attractions of Rome 1. The Colosseum Colosseum is commonly known as Flavian Amphitheatre. As the Eiffel Tower is to Paris, the same the Flavian Amphitheatre is to Rome. It is the largest structure that left by Roman antiquity, the Colosseum provides the model for sports arenas, the present-day football stadium is designed on this oval Roman plan. The building was begun by Vespasian in AD 72, then his son, Titus enlarged it by adding the fourth story which was begun in the year AD 80 with a series of splendid games. It was enough for the theatrical performances, festivals, circuses, games and other related activities.

  2. 2. The Pantheon The Pantheon is a well-preserved monument of Roman antiquity and is intact for its 2000 years. In AD 80 The Pantheon was rebuilt after damaged by fire, and the brickwork shows the high technical mastery of Roman builders. Its 43-meter dome is the supreme achievement of Roman interior architecture, hanging suspended without visible supports. The balanced effect of the interior is a result of its proportion that it's height is same as the diameter. 3. Roman Forum Walking through the forum is like stepping back two millennia into the heart of ancient Rome. The history of the Roman Forum is the history of the Roman Empire and the western world. Here, Roman political and religious life was centered on the courts, markets, and meeting places. 4. Trevi Fountain Trevi Fountain comes under the top tourist attractions of Rome. Throwing a coin into Trevi Fountains is a tradition which supposed to assure your return to Rome. Trevi Fountains is Rome’s largest fountain, which is originally constructed by Agrippa, the great art patron of the first century BC, to bring water to his baths. The water rotates around the artificial rocks, and collects in a large basin, always filled with coins. 5. Spanish Steps This historic center of Rome, has so many art-filled churches, resplendent palaces, and lively squares that you could spend your whole vacation strolling its ancient streets and lanes. The boat-shaped fountain at the foot of Spanish Steps is known as the Barcaccia which was created by Pietro Bernini, father of the great Baroque architect Gian Lorenzo Bernini.
