PN UNC AMR Topic Workgroup Meter Reading Validation Information/Analysis Request
Background • For future AMR sites which provide daily reads or a periodic read to the Transporters, the workgroup is considering standard validation rules carried out by the Shipper prior to submission. • The checks include; • Completeness check to ensure all readings expected are received (including converter readings) • Tolerance check to ensure the consumption derived from the reading is within a specified tolerance for the AQ/SOQ band • At the AMR 19 meeting it was suggested that analysis is performed by Shippers to test the tolerances on real life examples
Analysis • Analysis required to support a suitable set of standard industry checks & tolerances on gas meter readings • Shippers to test the ‘strawman’ tolerances to check if they are appropriate, and suggest alternatives if not • The checks are the minimum required before submission to the Transporters • Two sets of tolerances; • Table 1: on receipt of daily reads • Table 2: on receipt of periodic reads • Tolerances are applied to the consumption derived from the meter reading • Where the read fails the tolerance it is subject to further investigation
Next Steps • The next meeting of the Project Nexus AMR Workgroup will take place on May 4th, 2011 • Shippers to provide alternative tolerances if the ‘strawman’ values are not workable • We would like to conclude discussions on read validation at the meeting • For more information please contact: • Michele.Downes@xoserve.com or • Fiona.Cottam@xoserve.com
