  4. Osmolality (normal tubule function, AVP ) More than 600 mmol/Kg intact tubular function If no difference with that of plasma then tubular damage is there. Water deprivation test AVP Fluid restricted raised urine osmolality Investigations of tubular functions

  5. Blood glucose, plasma creatinine,potassium and calcium abnormal diagnosis Normal Fluid deprivation test Urine osmolality polyuria

  6. Saline infusion test No increase in ADH (CDI) Increase in ADH Fluid deprivation (osmolality /ADH) Both are low PP osmolality low ADH high(NDI) Non diagnostic

  7. Renal tubular acidosis Persistent unexplained acidosis. Fresh urine sample for pH. (˃ 5.3)(RTA) Acid load test Ammonium chloride and measure pH hourly for 8 hours. Urine pH and acid load test
