  4. Application service provider A company that manages and deliver applications and related services to enterprises and individuals over the Internet from a remote data centre. Thomas Mejtoft

Application service provider • An ASP service is something that can be viewed graphically and only interacts with the user using standard I/O devices. • No need to rewrite any code • Support for many platforms • Multiple clients connect to one server • All software execute on central server • Possibility to use thin clients • What is an ASP service? • Possibility to use thin clients Thin Client A computer without hard drive or other moving parts. All instructions come directly from a central server, no information are stored in the thin client. The thin client gives lower total cost of ownership. Thomas Mejtoft

  8. Residential gateway A residential gateway allows consumer premise equipment connected to the home’s local area network to access and use services from a wide area network. Thomas Mejtoft
