  2. What Prosthetics Are Used For Prosthetics are used for people who have lost a limb due to disease, injury, or birth defect Replacements for feet, legs, arms, and hands are all available Prosthetics could also be used for cosmetic purposes such as eyes, breasts, and noses

  3. How Do Prosthetics Work Prosthetics work by they have a plyon which is the frame of the prosthetic. The socket is where the persons limb attaches to the prosthetic The suspension is what keeps the prosthetic and the limb attached.

  4. Education Needed To make a prosthetic you need to be a licenced O&P practitioner (orthotist, prosthetist, or orthotist/prosthetist), pedorthist, assistant, fitter, or technician. Must have a masters degree in what you choose to be licenced in

  5. Certifications You must be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) To be certified you need 4 years of an undergrad program, 2 years of O&P course work and anywhere from 12 to 24 months of a masters degree

  6. Work Environment You generally work along side doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists  and prosthetic technicans The environment you work in is mainly a large hospital.
